Kot Gullah

Kot Gulah is a village and union council, an administrative subdivision, of Chakwal District in the Punjab Province of Pakistan, it is part of Talagang Tehsil.^[1]. It is almost at the dead end of Punjab as there is no road which goes beyond this point to anywhere.

Most of the population belongs to Awan Family but Niazis also live here. Niazi family lives in the suburbs of Kotgullah like Dhoke Jhat, Dhoke Choi, Dhoke Mail, Dhoke Walaveen, Kanat and other small pockets. Before partition of 1947, Sayed Rasul Niazi and Ata Rasul Niazi (two real brothers) sent their children to school. Two of them joined army and graduated from Dera Dun Academy with British. The famous people are Major (R) Ghulam Mahbub Niazi (Late), [[Sitara-e-Jurat], Brig.(R) M. Aslam Niazi, Col. Abid Niazi, Engineer Saleem Niazi, Engineer Aleem Niazi,[both work in Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission at senior levels] Kaleem Niazi AVP NBP, Dr. Naeem Niazi, Dr. Yousuf Niazi, Alam Din Niazi(Director Rehman Cotton Mills), Major (R.) Qayum Niazi and many others. This area is proud of these people. A village in the Union Council, MAHBUBABAD, was named after Major (R) Ghulam Mahbub Niazi (Late), Sitara-e-Jurat (the first gallantry award recipient of Pakistan Armed Forces during Kashmir War 1948).

Major Sahib was a very famous and renowned personality of not only Tehsil Talagang but also of entire District Chakwal. He remained Chairmain of Distt Chakwal Ushar & Zakat Committee and died in 2001. His son Lt Col (R) Abid Khan also served in Pakistan Army until the year 2008.

Shahid Mansoor, Son of Atta Mohammed from Kotgullah an IT System Administrator is working in an Australian Company. His Elder Brother Khalid Farooq has two Colleges in Australia.

Mr Ahmed Sher a commerce Graduate and member of Pakistan Institute of Public Finance Accountants Son of Retired Army soldier H/Capt Ali Sher, Working in private sector.

Matoki is a village under union council Kot Gullah.

Matoki is enriched with magnificent talent. Poor people without basic facilities has produced and shown a remarkable progress in all facets of life. The glittering stars of Matoki without any support starting from primary school Matoki, driving through Govt. high school Kot gullah towards a remarkable and much accredited professional destinations are: 1) Asgher Ali Khan, a Chartered Accountant and Cost & Management Accountant son of a Pakistan army retired soldier, Sub Maj (R ) Shah Muhammad 2) Dr. Nisar Ahmed, running his own hospital in Talagang and serving the community, is son of a primary school teacher, Malik Mumtaz. 3) Tariq Iqbal Malik, editor of weekly Mutaqarib published from Talagang is son of primary school teacher, Malik Mehr Khan.

Liaqat Ali Khan is a famous cricketer of union council Kot Gullah and the captain of kot gullah cricket team. He organized many tournaments. Maqsodia cricket torment, a cricket festival, was organized by him which provided the great entertainment for whole village.== References ==

+ Sultan is also brilliant son of Kot Gullah. He is son of Haji Mehr Khan, who is very well known personality of the area, due to his honesty and many other human being qualities.He is the elder brother of Master Muhammad Iqbal,Govt High School Kot Gullah Sharif. Presently he is in Germany as a diplomat in Embassy of Pakistan Berlin - Germany. Dhoke Larian (JAMAL) is the main part of the UC Kotgullah. MALIK MUHAMMAD RAZA belongs to this village, who is very famous bureaucrat of The Pakistan. He holds the post of Joint Secretary (JS) Fishery Commissioner in the Ministry of Ports of Shipping and PS to Minister of Ports of shipping. He is son of MALIK MUHAMMAD NAWAZ. And his nephew MALIK MUHAMMAD AAMIR ALTAF is the CADET in Pakistan Marine Academy (PMA) in the field of Merchant Navy at International level. He is son of MALIK ALTAF HUSSAIN AWAN the youngest brother of MALIK MUHAMMAD RAZA. And MALIK NISAR HUSSAIN is the son of MALIK MUMTAZ HUSSAIN, younger brother of MALIK MUHAMMAD RAZA.

Pichnand is on the way to KOT GULLAH SHARIF, it is one of the UC in which there is a Higher Secondary School, in near future it will be a College, There are lot of People from Pichnand who are famous like MUHAMMAD ISMAIL FAHMI, He holds the post of DEPUTY REGISTRAR in ALLAMA IQBAL OPEN UNIVERSITY, ISLAMABAD now transferred to ESTABLISHMENT DIVISION, LIAQUAT ALI AKBER Currency Principal of two Govt School and also ISMAIL MEMORIAL SCHOOL PICHNAND.
